Groupa are pioneers in the Swedish roots music renaissance, and NorthSide mark their achievements by releasing a collection of their finest moments over the past 15 years. Their blending of old folk melodies, contemporary improvisational style and creative instrumentation have influenced a whole generation of musicians.

Many important figures in the Scandinavian music scene have worked with the band, including Ale Möller and Lena Willemark from ECM's Nordan Project, Hållbus Totte Mattsson from Hedningarna, Gustav Hylén from Hoven Droven, and Jonas Simonson from Bäsk and Den Fule.

This 70-plus minute compilation, their first US release, is an exciting blend of the Swedish tradtition with inspired musicianship and creative approaches. The band tours internationally and has become an established favorite at the European summer festivals with their energetic and accomplished live show.
