Description:
The closest English translations to Hoven Droven is "helter skelter" or "whatever," which happens to also describe the band's approach to their Swedish folk roots.
Taking traditional melodies and rocking them hard is the band's most dominant approach, but as this 18-track compilation illustrates, this band can play sweet ballads, blues grooves and creative horn charts as well. But the band seems to always gravitate back to blowing your socks off.
Culled from their two Swedish releases Hia Hia (1994) and Grov (1996), this compilation also features two previously unreleased live performances and is over 70 minutes. Spare socks recommended.

Reviews
- "Call it the new Viking invasion if you want, but all these Swedish bands (Garmarna, Hedningarna, etc.) are doing a hell of a lot to kick folk-rock well into the next millennium. This release (a compilation of earlier material) by Hoven Droven is called Groove, but Monster Truck Groove would be a better title." -- Chris Nickson, amazon.com
