Maria Kalaniemi is well known as one of the world's leading accordion players. Although classically trained, she is famous for her ground-breaking folk accordion technique and as a leader of the new Finnish folk movement.

Sven Ahlbäck is also a teacher and accomplished folk musician. He plays fiddle with NorthSide artists Rosenberg 7. His playing and style fit seamlessly with Kalaniemi, and the result is like a comfortable dialogue between old friends.

Singer Susanne Rosenberg and nyckelharpa player Johan Hedin can also be heard on a few tracks providing additional accompaniment.
