The Reptile Palace Orchestra specializes in collecting various forms of music from around the world. Employing modern techniques of cross-fertilization, gene-splicing, cloning and controlled mutation, they create a varied menagerie of unique musical subspecies and hybrids.
RPO are six overeduacted musicians based in Madison, Wisconsin. The result of the first set of experiments for Omnium is Hwy X: a 14-track excursion into new realms of Balkan lounge big band rock.
Their research tools include: Electric cello, trumpet, violin, mandolin, balilaika, clarinet, saxophone, accordion, kontra, guitar, dumbek, drum kit, and various electronic gizmos topped off with the torchy vocal stylings of Anna Purnell.
